Crean's Stage, Friday 3rd of August.

Le Cheile Festival 2012 opens with The Walls

One of Ireland's most respected and successful bands, The Walls were formed by brothers Steve and Joe Wall after the demise of their legendary, multi-platinum band The Stunning. They started their own record label Dirtbird Records and released their first album Hi-Lo in 2000. It went Gold in Ireland on the back of good airplay and a helping hand from U2 who added them to their second, legendary, Slane Castle show after the band sent them the cd. The follow-up album New Dawn Breaking went Top 5 and was amongst the top selling home releases of 2005. It includes the classic To the Bright and Shining Sun, containing that infectious guitar riff which helped The Walls become a household name when it was used on a major TV commercial. Other major acts The Walls have graced the stage with include, Bob Dylan, Crowded House and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Having tasted recent success with latest album 'Stop The Lights' in February, Le Cheile is glad to include The Walls on a leg of their Irish tour this summer.

Do not miss this opportunity to catch one of Ireland's best acts, as they open Le Cheile 2012

Crean's Stage, Saturday 4th of August

We welcome back one of the Le Cheile crew's favourite acts, the amazing Republic of Loose
We could rave on and on about The 'Loose, but everybody already knows what to expect when they hit Oldcastle. Stage diving, crowd mingling, and a night of the bounciest tunes ever produced in Ireland are all par for the course. You can always judge the quality of a band by their workload, and having toured the US, played with Sinead O'Connor, Shane McGowan, U2, and collaborated on TV shows with NBC, MTV, BBC, and a host of movies, the quality speaks for itself. A guaranteed full house means that early ticket purchase is essential!

Caffrey's Red Room, Saturday 4th of August

Le Cheile is delighted to welcome Paddy Casey to Oldcastle.

Paddy Casey has been the forefront of the Irish music scene since his debut album Amen (So Be It) in 1999, while his second release Living became the biggest seller in Ireland out-selling U2. In more recent times Paddy has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with that very band on their Vertigo Tour, he has had a week long sold out residencies in Dublin’s prestigious Olympia Theatre and RDS. He has even been invited onto and performed on the Hit American CBS Chat Show "The Late Show" with David Letterman.

Paddy recently wrote the follow up to his last award-winning album Addicted to Company (Part One), for which he won Best Male at the Meteor Awards, and and we are delighted to add one of the country’s best singer-songwriters to this year’s bill.

Creans Stage, Sunday August 5th

The country's favourite ex-rugby playing, ex-Blizzard's frontman, and possibly the cause of a few ex-boyfriends.......Ladies and Gents, but mainly Ladies, we give you Bressie.
The Blizzards were one of Ireland's biggest rock 'n' roll deals, but that didn't stop their guitarist and singer Niall Breslin deciding in January 2010 that he needed a new challenge. "We had six amazing years together," he reflects. "The gigs, the fans, the other guys in the band… it was all brilliant, but I've always found myself being embraced by all genre directions. Not only as a writer and a performer, but as a producer too; I'm fascinated by every part of the music-making process." He has managed to combine both musical genres to glorious effect as can be heard on his debut solo single, "Can't Stay Young (Forever)". A big-chorused synth-pop anthem that screams "Summer!".
Currently one of the mentors on the Voice Of Ireland, we are looking forward to having Bressie back to where the Blizzards had their first gig, with us, at Le Cheile!

Caffrey's Red Room, Sunday August 5th
